Non-punitive by design

Crews only tell you the truth if the data cannot be used against them.

Standards Captain follows the LOSA principles of anonymous, confidential, voluntary observation and enforces them in the database, not just in policy.

What the system will not do

  • Link a rating or note to a named pilot, tail number, route or exact date.
  • Show any results below a minimum group size, which you set (default five).
  • Release results before the weekly batch.
  • Let management read observation notes.
  • Let the platform operator read your roster, observations or notes.

What crews get

  • A record that they were observed and debriefed.
  • The ability to acknowledge each observation and leave a private comment.
  • Recognition for good work that reaches the committee in de-identified form.
Non-punitive protection depends on your department policy too. We recommend publishing a short line observation policy, signed by management and pilot representatives, before the first observation.
